Ken Hultgren ( – ) — Illustrator’s Lounge
My daughter is an aspiring animator and she draws dozens of drawings in a day. Want to Read saving…. Mithlesh Patel marked it as to-read Apr 14, Did you notice that Hultgren’s book came out one year prior to Preston Blair’s original Animation book I guess it was called Advanced Animation then. Soon afterwards, he joined the Disney Studios, where he became one of the best animators. Hultgren’s work is still sought after. The accumulation of years of experience showed how to draw animals both realistically and as caricatures.
Having grown up with the Animation book, those two drawings jumped nultgren out at me. Also looking into a few more books for character designing.

For all the cartoons animal drawings, the perspective examples, drawing the female figure presented above and four pages on how to draw different types of dogs. I checked out the date inside –June The book has stayed in print for decades, for good reason, I highly recommend it. Did you also notice that apparently Blair borrowed some poses from Hultgren’s book? Kenneth Vernon Hultgren was a gifted draughtsman and notable Disney animator. Ken Hultgren on Cartooning 22 years or so ago I was reading the introduction to a book by that William Stout had written and he referenced the name Ken Hultgren.
