I can find the spec. I used WinISD to find out wich -6db point these speakers have.
Could anyone help me with the design of this project. The -6dB point is cabinet dependant. The TL Dw design is pretty straight forward, it’s about liter internal tuned to 40 Hz-ish.
You can arrive at the internal measurements by substracting the material thickness from the external dimensions.

What is your intended usage? How much power is it going to get and how high are you gonna cross it and to what?.
Anyway, if you’re going to play reggae, “glijbanen” are apperently the way to go. Apart from that it will also play in a basreflex cabinet and go well low due to it’s low resonance frequency Fs. The only thing it has in common with the previous mentioned loudspeaker, fl15w that it is still a 2,5″ VC, lowish Xmax driver.
Over op Engels dus. Because i think i have a pair of short throw. Do you think that that makes a difference to the reach low frequencies of the speakers?
And do you have an idea about how big the bas reflexes have to be?

And are there seperate cabinets dl15q the speakers? I guess i have to bring some panels inside the box to insure the strength of it.? Short or long throw is associated with the cabinet type. How large the cabinet will be is up to you.
A small cabinet would be around liters per speaker, internal volumelarge will be around liter per speaker, internal volume.
That’s another reason I suggested a horn loaded cabinet, as it will go louder with less input. On the downside they will be larger.
Those supporting panels inside are known as “bracing”, lots written and to be found on that subject.

Find great deals on eBay for SSRDA in Automation Relays. Shop with confidence. New (No Box) Fotek SSRDA-H Solid State Relay. Input: 3- 32VDC.
As with any new product, before we offered them up for sale we tested our first shipment of these relays that came in the door. Looking on the internet, it quickly became obvious that there have been a lot of complaints about these parts failing.
Since the manufacturer FOTEK is considered to be a good quality manufacturer overall, the common conjecture is that the failing parts are counterfeit and therefore presumably of inferior construction. There are other items that sst be tip-offs as well such as the sloppiness of the print around the LED, flat vs textured appearance of the label stock etc.
Here is a link foteo a UL notice released several years ago about fraudulent use of the UL logo that calls out some of the signs of fakes that were identified at that time. Below are a pic of a genuine relay with some key items to watch for. Below that is the label from the parts that we received. You can click to enlarge the pics.

Looking at these relays for sale on the internet, it appears that the vast majority are fakes from what I can determine. Assuming construction is similar to what we found, it appears that as long as they are derated down to be within their 12A limit and have asr heat sinking at higher power levels over maybe 6- 7A, they should probably perform OK.
Sxr ran comfortably at 5A and were starting to get pretty hot up around 8A with no heat sinking.
If you have any further info on this topic or corrections to the information I have found and provided, please feel free to share. The PCB-design inside some of them is also unbelievably bad with no respect for proper insulation clearance between input and output.

As you have clearly shown, even that may not be a safe assumption unless you footek one out of every order to see what is it that you actually received. They also appeared to be counterfeit and came from the same supplier, but I could not find any performance issue with them during testing and they were built with 80NF70 MOSFETs which should be up to the job to meet the full spec.

The Trojan War, Green Ronin, Mythic Vistas, and their associated logos are trademarks of 1 Introduction: The Trojan War & the Homeric Age. Green Ronin first delved into the Bronze Age in Testament: Roleplaying in the Biblical Era. Now the Trojan War picks up where Testament left. Trojan War: Roleplaying in the Age of Homeric Adventure. by Aaron Rosenberg. Green Ronin Publishing. P. O. Box Renton, WA
Ever since the surprisingly on-the-ball and widely acclaimed Testament it has been one to watch.
With Trojan War we hit the highs of the series. Homeric also includes the deities of the time as they took a fairly active role in the ten year war. There are two basic races; human and divine offspring. There are different types of humans — the Trojans and Achaeans — and each divine offspring is very different.
There are new classes too. Wizard and cleric are out — magician and priest are in.
The book introduces three prestige classes as well; Orator, Runner and Seer. The Runner sounds a bit like a wet blanket but in actual fact Achilles was described as a Runner.
As we might predict there are new skills and new uses for old skills — but we can forgive the book for that and new feats.
Aar is a d20 product after all. Here we have powerful warriors capable of specialised but better-than-human feats. I like my history. I have a copy of the Iliad.
I think this puts me at the extreme end of the scale too. The book summarises the before, during and after for you.
I said the setting is extremely suitable for feats and the supplement itself tells you why. How many fantasy games feature the Greek pantheon?
How many modern occult games have ancient Greek threats? Annual 1 which features Achilles. This is a coincidence but it is a point proving one. That any gamer is likely to benefit from the summary in this Trojan War supplement. The Equipment chapter does not just bash out Homeric themed trappings but thoughtfully discusses the Bronze Age. Sure, academics debate when, if and where the siege of Troy took place but this RPG picks its mark and sticks to it.
Troy fell, of course. I think the brave but best for role troajn decision is to say that it need not do so again. Let your players change or defend history as the whims of the game must. Similarly we look at gaming foibles such as the dread deus ex machine. There is discussion for the GM, tips and comments there to guide.
There are also battlefield rules. The battle system is based around captains and the groups of fighters not the class that they grden. Each has a strength. Each can do something. Winning conflicts are those which push the enemy back. Rojin are specialised battlefield feats too. Provided the PCs could act as Captains then they would have effect on the battle. Here we find the Trojan or Achaeans heroes — what they did and why.
I tend not to like big chapters devoted to the stats of NPCs as I prefer to make them up and control them myself.
Trojan War PDF on • Green Ronin Publishing
Each group clamed so-and-so as the most powerful warrior, best archer, wisest strategist and even most attractive woman it would be a nightmare trying to put them into any sort of order.
In addition there are stories of before and for the survivors after Troy which provide additional evidence of greatness or lack of it. Powerful and heroic captains also enjoys a Tolkien-esq ring to it which can be ignored or rlnin at will. If you can express and compare deities without resorting to numbers trojn that is best case. I do really believe any deity would have a hand and teleport any would-be aggressor off to the bottom of the ocean.
There are no wizards and new magic spells in Trojan War. The book removes some of the magic classes and replaces them with more suitable ones.
The same applies to the spells through spell lists. By providing new spell lists the supplement is able to control the levels of magic and types of spell. I really did enjoy reading through Trojan War. Trojan War is complete and thorough. It might not turn every stone over in the way I think is best but it leaves no stone unturned. I think the Trojan War is also a doorway to roleplaying; it seems ideal for school clubs especially in Bible America.
Trojan War is one of the few books my non-roleplaying girlfriend picked up from the vast array of games here and made positive comment on. And yet this is also familiar d I think the Trojan War is ideal for gaming groups looking something safely different. E-mail is already registered on the site. Within the last seven months, a sudden rash of skin magazines have offered new buying and planning options here. Half a dozen or so new publications with titles such as Chastity, Playway and Fantasy are mostly claiming high, if unaudited, circulations and no shortage of advertisers. Tame by Western standards, the new publications walk a fine line in India, where pornography is strictly illegal and Playboy and Penthouse are banned.
To avoid attention from local and federal regulators, the magazines avoid too many photo spreads and any suggestion of lower torso nudity. Media watchers attribute the profusion of sex magazines to the cumulative influence of liberal, Westernized media in India.

Joining the Group Read of Emily Wilson’s translation of The Odyssey has provided me with an opportunity to revisit anv love of ancient Greek literature and philosophy. Needless to say, a great deal has changed since the s. Dod I first read this book during the height of my Greek phase in college–a phase, I should add, that lasted through grad school, when I did one of my fields in medieval Christian thought, largely so that I could trace the influence of Plato through to the early modern era.
Dodds, I am sorry to report, has not aged well. I had the privilege of hearing Vlastos lecture, toward the end of his life, at the University of Irgational. He was a rock star in the field of Classical Studies and I am not ashamed to admit to having been a groupie. But back to Dodds. The Greeks and the Irrational originated as a series of lectures delivered at Berkeley irratiojal and the book bears the marks of the era. Both Fromm and Popper were refugees from Nazi Europe, the first a psychoanalyst, the second a philosopher.
Both sought to apply the tools of their trades thf understanding how Dodds was possible, in a world that seemed to be progressing toward freedom and enlightenment. Fromm found an answer in the still-primitive impulses within our psyche–paralleling the impulses that the cultural anthropologist Edward Burnett Tylor observed in primitive societies. Freud was influenced by Tylor, I should mention.
Popper found irratioonal of these impulses in Plato’s Republicand speculated that the great philosopher was articulating the anxieties felt by members of his class toward the spread of Athenian democracy. He called Plato a thhe. Let me say right irrationap that, notwithstanding Plato’s paternalism in the RepublicI disagree with Popper. Dodds said that he wanted to approach the ancient world on its own terms, rather than succumbing to the tendency of some of his peers of viewing the past through the lens of the present.
The depth of his scholarly understanding of the Greeks is fully evident as he traces notions of divine possession from the earliest parts of the Homeric epics through the classical greesk and beyond, but in terming these elements “irrational,” and “religious,” as if the two were synonymous, he shows his hand.
By the time we get to the final essay in the book, “The Fear of Freedom,” his allegiances are clear. Mind you, I share his irrwtional over the “recoil from rationalism” or, to put it in Existentialist terms Dodds was also reading postwar French philosophers, as grerks I at the same time I was reading the Greeks and Dodds’s book”the unconscious flight from the heavy burden of individual choice.
Did the Greeks go there first? Can we draw lessons from what Dodds ultimately confesses is the th of his book — “the failure of Greek rationalism” — so that we, unlike the Greeks, will face squarely “those irrational elements in human nature which govern, without our knowledge, so much of our behavior and so much of what we think is our thinking” and subdue them?
Sadly, I’m afraid not. View all 4 comments. Nov 05, Derek rated it it was amazing. Despite its age, this work by Dodds is still considered a seminal text for students of Greek history and classics. The usual survey-level understanding of the Greeks anx that they were a culture which always put rationality on a pedestal at the expense of all else and ultimately ignored the irrational until well after dodde passing of the classical period.
Dodds corrects this view, showing irrational impulses and institutions which were more widely accepted during the Archaic, Classical, and Hellen Despite its age, this work by Dodds is still considered a seminal text for students of Greek history and classics. Dodds corrects this view, showing irrational impulses and institutions which were more widely accepted during the Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic Periods than the works of rationalist philosophers such as Heraclitus and Plato.
At a most fundamental level, this work is great for putting Greek intellectuals in their proper place at the fringes of society and in reaction to irratonal. This was one of the first works of ancient history to employ modern anthropological and psychological theory as a tool for greejs the past. Though early efforts at this were almost always clumsy and driven more by the theory didds by the facts, Dodds uses his modern insights cautiously, judiciously, and helpfully. The scope of the work is broad and every chapter addresses some different aspect of Greek irrationality.
The chapter which several Classics professors dodd to have memorized is the one on how Greece transitioned from being a shame culture in Homer’s time to a guilt culture by the Archaic Period. This part seems a bit simplistic and is probably the most dated section, but since the Classics Department at my current university is rather geriatric, I can see vodds they are still bewitched by this section.
Other sections carry with them certain assumptions about the nature of religion which are out of irrztional, such as the idea that the beliefs of the elite and common people were completely different.
However, that does not necessarily mean that Dodds was wrong and at least his assumptions are out in the open and can be seen for what they are. Though what is here lacks the latest evidence and isn’t the most in-depth coverage of any particular facet of Greek religion and psychology, it is still an excellent summary of classical scholarship up to and everything here seems like a reasonable interpretation of the evidence then available.
If you are a hardcore Hellenophile, then this is one of the best books ever. However, it is definitely not for the casual reader or a novice to the subject matter.
The Greeks and the Irrational
Jan 30, Erik Graff rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Dodds was a classicist and member of the Society for Psychical Research who apparently got fed up enough irrrational the hackneyed portrayal of the classical Greeks as rationalists to pen this popular study of the irrational elements of their culture dodsd beliefs.
It’s an easy read and somewhat of an antidote to the usual picture given students in high school and introductory college courses. Dec 05, Regan rated it it was amazing.
While Ancient Greeks are most known for the triumph of rationalism over superstition and magic, E. Dodds presents an alternate history irrrational demonstrates that, despite the intellectual advancements in the direction of reason, the Greeks particularly Plato of the Golden Age fundamentally retained certain pre-5th century magical read: Dodds argues that the progressive excision of “irrationality” in the Stoic and Epicurean traditions turns out to be a regression–a failure to appreciate the affective elements of living a human life.
He sees this failure culminate in medieval Christianity’s devaluation of earthly life. This book is essential and utterly fascinating. Because it was first delivered as a series of lectures each chapter is relatively short–approx pagesit is eminently digestible and suitable for any audience. But boy, does he pack a lot of detail in: This makes this a great bibliographical source in addition to being a spectacular read.
Jul 15, Feliks rated it liked it Shelves: Interesting topic; the writing is as dry as the dust on the Acropolis; but overall too fascinating to dismiss as just pedantic. If you want to get to know Greek culture, this is a good means; because it invokes a ‘thinking-about’ process rather orrational just ‘receiving the stories’.
The author –discussing various aspects of mental irrationality and how they might have been perceived by the Greeks–draws on numerous references. At the end of each chapter e.
Its an info-dump from the mouth of a howitzer. No ‘hand-holding’ or ‘spoon-feeding’, here. This kind of author would write rings around someone like Jared Diamond or Malcolm Gladwell. Copious notes and bibliography placed after each chapter, rather than all at greeks end. You rarely see that anymore. Mar 30, Matthew Gallaway rated it it was amazing. I read this book four times in a row. The book is beautifully written and argued, and even the footnotes are worth scouring. I would give this book fifty thousand stars if I could.
Jun 11, Mary Greejs rated it it was amazing Shelves: A book on a somewhat loose and heterogeneous collection of concepts. Irraional, it was to combat the pop culture image of the Greeks as the perfect culture of rationality that the Enlightenment is so blameworthy for coming up with. The middle ages get the equally and oppositely ridiculous image of the world of irrationality; for that I recommend C.
Lewis’s The Discarded Image. To be irrationak, it uses the loose-goosey, pop culture notion of what’s rationality and irrationality, but then, so does the A book on a somewhat loose and heterogeneous collection of concepts. To be sure, it uses the loose-goosey, pop culture notion of what’s rationality and irrationality, but then, so does the image.
So it goes though monitions in Homer, whether the characters are said to be moved by gods, and the development of a guilt-culture tge a shame culture and all the attendant development of pollution and catharsis, which originally meant ritual purification.
The Greeks and the irrational
An insane man might go through many ceremonies for many gods and goddesses known to cause insanity, and if it didn’t work — why, obviously, they had yet to propitiate the right god. Inspiration as a form of madness, whether it caused prophecy, ritual dancing, or poetry. They did not think all dreams significant. I must say that it’s a few decades and takes Freud rather more seriously than turned out to be wise. But you have your premonitions and other abilities. This took on a rather shamanistic slant — he puts out a correlation to demonstrate idrational Orpheus was a shaman — and the reason that the dreams can be prophetic is that the god-like soul is more god-like when semi-liberated by sleep.

As soon as the hut, a great wooden shack perched on giant chicken legs, arrives on the plane somewhere in the heart of a deep forest, animals flee in fo five mile radius, great thunderclouds emerge in the wake of her flight by cauldron and time itself twists and convulses!
Serious magical shit is afoot! This adventure is an almost perfect mixture between folklore, DnD and gonzo and I love it, it reminds me of Castle Gargantua. It all starts with Baba Yaga herself. An ancient withered crone of demi-godlike ability, who flies around in a magical cauldron and fo her traces with a broom, who feeds on the spirits of the dead, who bargains for young maidens to serve her for 2 years, who knows all but each question will cost you years of your youth, who seeks to trap Death itself to be forever beyond its reach.
Throughout the adventure, Baba Yaga remains an aloof, lurking in the background but observing every room in her 4-dimensional hut through a thousand mirrors or animals that have one eye replaced with a glass bead.
While she is evil, she is also sly and can be bargained with.
Baba Yaga and her Dancing Hut | Daemons & Deathrays
Her power, which dwarfs that of a Tarrasque, makes it very unlikely the PCs can destroy her, though the adventure certainly does not forbid you from trying. Fortunately for the PCs, the adventure gives you several other possible reasons for venturing into the dreaded Hut of Baba Yaga.
Good hooks too, anything from investigating the freak weather to finding some poor girl whose dick stepmother sold her to Baba Yaga classic. The cabin just squats there, in the centre of the woods, surrounded by an foot radius fence made of human bones.
As you approach, trembling in anticipation like a cuck, or more likely remote viewing the place through your crystal ball, then exhuming a nearby graveyard for an army of disposable soldiers before sending an Aerial Servant to check out the Hut and report back because you are at least level 7 and therefore FUCKING FIERCE, the Fence animates to become Necrophidici! After that disturbing mixture of weird and sinister we get…a seemingly normal cabin.
They foreshadow it beautifully. A welcome to those who seek knowledge and a dire warning against those who seek riches is written above the door…in cyrillic! A secret trap door leads down to an attic, to a cavern below the attic to an entrance to a vast 4 dimensional non-euclidean maze of chambers that is the true interior of the Dancing Hut of Baba Yaga! As you explore this maze-like environment you find clues written on the walls left by Questrix the Illusionist another prisoner of Baba Yaga as well as the OPTION of talking to many of the servants, guardians and prisoners of Baba Yaga.
The sequence IS the same but the order is different depending on from what room you access the place. Normally this would be too cryptic and the clues are difficult to find but there are ways of getting the information from prisoners or servants of Baba Yaga so puzzling is not a necessity. Nevertheless, what an awesome surprise.
You find partial blueprints, notes on augmenting certain high level spells, maps of rooms that are not on the map. The rooms themselves are fucking amazing. They contain everything you would expect from a millennia-old plane-travelling folkloric witch.
Bizarre prisons, rooms with stuffed animals that are actually vampiresinfinite treasure vaults protected by fearsome enchantments, an armory with weaponry both ancient and modern protected by the ghost of a cyborg commando, a tunnel leading into your own intestine, gateways into other planes, a miniscule Tokyo plagued by a giant lizard Yes Really!
Meddling with the tools of a batshit evil demi-god witch can get you fucked good and proper but there is some awesome magical shit to be found. Speaking of which, the magical shit!
Smedman did a terrific job of portraying the interior of an extradimensional wizards tower. Rooms are simultaneously challenging obstacles to overcome, wondrous locations to explore and they all have some sort of purpose. Guest quarters, magical prismatic healing factory, magic laboratories full of tea that replicates various potion effects.
Paintings that turn into a clone of you and then step out and attempt murder or convincing the party that THEY are the real one The fucking works. You find a staff of power on a repair bench. Do you feel lucky punk? I have not even gotten into the Flowers of Transformation or similar wondrous artifacts. The warning on the cabin is well stated.
[Review] The Dancing Hut of Baba Yaga (2e); Wheels within Wheels – Age of Dusk
Looting in this game is likely to get you fucked up by Babs Yaga and her various defensive measures, servants and spells.
If you enjoy playing games where you loot things and make lots of cash, this is not the adventure for you though ov might be able to glean some amazing ot treasures from the truck-load of powerful adversaries scattered about.
While I am on the subject. How she responds exactly is mostly left up the GM, though there are a few locations she will defend with her dabcing if they are directly molested say, her pantry.
And what servants they are! Anything from talking magical animals to Pit Fiends ! I am amazed how many encounters are described in such a fashion as to open up an opportunity for faction play. There is a great balance here. There are no random encounters in the Hut but Baba Yaga has a finite number of minions she can dispatch should the PCs come close to ransacking her shit, and thus the GM is given room to improvise.
The module is not without its flaws.
One might even go so far as to state that the entire purpose of Planar adventures is to put PCs in surroundings where they are no longer the top dog and the rules of the world are different then the ones they babaa used too. This module does that HARD. Scrying inside the Hut? Area of effect enchantments? The hut eats them and flings them back whenever it desires. That last one is circumvented by having the Pit Fiends that use teleportation wear a strange bronzed chicken amulet. While there is some small element of fairness and challenge to it, it always strikes me as kind of lazy.
I understand that without these restrictions most games of high level Dnd would degenerate into Wizard-powered pre-cognitive rocket-launcher tag but either write better or make the adventure lower level. Is it at times, merciless and unfair?
Yes but almost never without subtly telegraphing the death traps in advance, by which I mean both the actual traps and the far more potent traps Baba Yaga has crafted to trap DEATH.
No one else knows it. On the dancjng hand, its nice to see 2e without the burdens of having an unfolding story and just giving you a location with awesome shit to explore, which is As a last recommendation, take at least 2 wizards and a lot of backup scrolls before you tackle this thing.
Come one Come All! Yet another high level adventure where some monsters are just buffed and the players are gimped to level the playing field a bit. Who even plays till 13th level? Might huh a bit too cryptic for the more happy go lucky players I have those too, they have a lot of fun never reaching beyond level 5 before they fuck up and die. Fucking 20ish pages on what type of magic is restricted in the hut. This adventure has 4.
Hi Allan, long time no speakee. The adventure even goes so far as to give an explanation for why it differs so much from the hut described in Dragon 83, citing some sort of Quantum-Leap Eternal Champion-esque mechanism whereby both Baba Yaga and the Hut are different in each reality. After perusal, I think its fair to say Smedman was inspired by Dragon 83, but definitely improved upon the work. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are babs using your Twitter account.
