I put this book aside to read A Lady’s Life in the Rocky Mountains but I was already getting tired of it and I’m not in the mood to finish it right now. One of my favorite books.

If Remarque had written the book, so that the two different worlds, the one with Ravic as a surgeon and the one with Ravic as a lover, had been spread out evenly across the story, it would have been a better book.
